- Iridium tip spark plug
- Made in Japan
- High quality with environmentally-friendly materials
- Low price
A copper core spark plug is the thing that fires the engine in the first place. It’s not as flashy as high-tech bikes, but it’s an essential part of any transportation vehicle that runs on an internal combustion engine. The NGK BKR5EIX-11 is of very high quality and made in Japan, and it packs a punch when it comes to the basics of electricity.
This spark plug uses an iridium tip so that it can make a better connection with the end of the cylinder than other spark plugs. Iridium tips are small and had to be attached to the top of the plug, so they’re only used when it’s really necessary. The spark generated by this tip is more efficient than the one generated by a copper tip and runs cooler for more power and longer life. This thing will help you power up the engine without any worries.
5. Bosch 6702 Platinum Spark Plug

8. Champion RER8ZWYCB4
- Iridium tipped
- Resists up to 2000 degrees
- Ideal for gasoline
- One of the best spark plugs around
Singleshot compression ignition(SI) is the best way to ignite pressurized gases in the cylinder. In SI engines, a part of the combustion process is not able to auto-ignite at a constant rate. This makes auto-ignition even harder. Since a large percentage of spark plugs are made up of a coil that carries an electrical charge, they are able to create a spark at the tip when the electrical terminal is hit by a battery. The spark spreads across the inside of the engine rows which ignites the fuel that has been pumped in. The pressure and heat from the fuel wake up the spark and lights up the fuel before they explode. These are also called valve triggers.
9. Motorcraft SP-515 Spark Plug
- Copper core
- Chrome metal shell
- Long lasting
The Motorcraft SP-515 spark plug is a copper core, CHROME metal shell spark plug that’s ideal for most auto and light truck applications. It is designed with a smaller insulator nose to reduce power loss during ignition and prevent engine misfires.
This spark plug also performs well in low octane fuels. The construction is self-cleaning to help extend the service life and when the spark plug’s core is exposed to a plasma ion stream in the combustion chamber, the high electrical arc removes any contaminants from the plug’s surface that occur during normal engine operation. Last, but not least, this plug works as a good replacement after the use of an anti-seize compound on bolt threads during maintenance.

The low temperature range means that you can drive in those temperatures and still be able to start your car, not to mention that you won’t have to replace your spark plugs due to exposure to the cold.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is a better spark plug iridium or platinum?
As stated above the differences between platinum and iridium plugs are minimal. Iridium can withstand hotter operation temperatures which is why it is often used in racing applications. Iridium is also more expensive than platinum, but not enough to justify it as the better choice of spark plugs for almost any engine.
Platinum plugs are less prone to fouling, a benefit for regular drivers who find themselves putting in the plugs months after months. They have less electrodes as compared to iridium, but in actual practice, this fact has no effect on performance. They also have finer spark particle sizes, better conductivity, and are easier to use and install. They are also less likely to seize from corrosion than the iridium plugs. Platinum spark plugs are also less expensive than the iridium. They also weigh less than their iridium counterparts.
Are copper spark plugs better than platinum?
Yes, providing you have the right vehicle! As a general rule, copper spark plugs will work better in colder climates where the spark plug is more exposed. For example, the Saturn Ion, which was available in both V6 and 4-cylinder models, used a copper spark plug that performed much better in colder temperatures. Platinum spark plugs tend to require higher operating temperatures to ignite, so they don't work very well in colder climates.
In addition to colder climates, copper spark plugs also perform better when they have a higher operating temperature, while platinum spark plugs tend to perform better at lower temperatures. As a general rule, in a two-car garage in the winter, you'll probably be better off with copper spark plugs.
What's the best spark plug for performance?
The best spark plugs for performance depend on what you intend to use them for. Spark plugs are the central element of the ignition system, where the fuel is burnt to power the engine. They are used in almost every engine model, from vehicles, to airplanes to motorcycles. Some of the most popular uses of spark plugs and the qualities associated with them are listed below:
'Cool-running' spark plugs are designed to operate at high speeds while still being able to function normally in extreme temperatures. They are an excellent choice for racing engines and Street Performance vehicles.
'Long-life' spark plugs are spark plugs that perform equally well in both cold and hot weather. They are however less responsive, so aren't ideal for racing engines.
'High-heat' spark plugs are designed for high-performance engines that frequently reach high temperatures. They are not good for cold weather.
What brand of spark plugs does Toyota use?
Toyota is fairly silent about the spark plugs they use. We do know they occasionally use Denso manufactured spark plugs. From some research, it looks like Denso has the standard plug for Toyota (copper and platinum).
Copper and platinum channels provide more efficient current flow. This helps reduce hydrocarbon emission and prolongs plug life. Some spark plugs even have Iridium or Silver spark plug electrodes which increase the voltage of the spark. This amplifies the energy output of the electronic ignition system.
Nevertheless, there are extra precautions you should take to make sure your Betta is happy and healthy. In this article, we'll discuss what those precautions are and also what you should avoid doing to your Betta.
There are different metals used for spark plugs in different vehicles. After searching through many different internet forums, it seems that copper and platinum were deemed as the best metals for spark plugs. Since copper has the best anti-corrosive and anti-seizing properties, it is one of the first metals used in spark plugs. This may be the reason why copper spark plugs are always recommended.
